Dog Days

I know this picture is a little out of focus - but it really captures how our dogs are with each other! They do run and play a LOT every day, but when they finally crash, quite often they are found snuggling together, in Cohen's dog bed, or on the floor, like this adorable shot.

You know those Cottonelle ads? with the adorable puppy running through the house, leaving a trail of tissue paper behind it? Well check out our own "model" dog! Dora is really a good dog, so sweet, with such a calm and loving personality - but she is also very good at getting into mischief! We just had to snap a couple of pictures before we cleaned this up.

Posing nicely for the camera. Love the tissue hanging out of her mouth. Even with that, what a pretty face!

This is our older daughter, Emily, holding Dora about a month ago. Doesn't she look happy? (and cute too!)

I was just noticing, this picture shows a lot about me - my daughter, my dog, a quilt in the background, some antiques, the green wall (my favorite color). I'm pretty lucky - Jimmy Stewart isn't the only one with a wonderful life!

Valentine's Day Dinner

We were invited to a fun Valentine's dinner at the home of our friends Bill and Diane. They not only cooked and served us a fabulous dinner, from appetizers to dessert, but also had planned fun Valentine's games for after dinner festivities. Here is our friend, Andrew, and my husband, Scott (what a cutie). Here are 3 of the lovely ladies present: Molly, Chris (me), and Cindy. Don't we look happy to have someone else cook for us??? Not to mention, spending a lovely evening with our husbands and good friends.
Our terrific hosts, Diane and Bill. What a great couple! They had planned so many fun games and quizzes for after dinner - things like, where did you go with your Valentine on your first date? When did you "know" that this person was something special? We all answered every question.
This artwork (painting) hangs in a perfect location over Bill and Diane's fireplace in the greatroom. Diane spotted it in Mexico, and somehow carried it home on the plane. And, also amazingly, it fit this spot perfectly. Meant to be!

Watching Dora Grow - Part 2!

We have been having so much fun with our puppy! Dora is a very sweet dog, loves all people and all dogs - much like our dear Maggie did. :) Here are a few pics of her rapid growth!

Holding her steady for the pictures can be challenging! Here she is at 15 weeks and 24 pounds.
...16 weeks, 27 pounds...

...17 weeks, and 29 pounds...

...and 18 weeks, and 30.4 pounds (we took her to the vet this week, so the weight was actually accurate!). Even though we see her every day, her growth is amazing, even to us.
We have decided to switch to monthly photos after this. Keep watching!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year!  Here's hoping for peace in our world!  A quote that I carry around with me is from my hometown pastor, from years ago -...
